چکیده
The main objective of this study was to investigate the effectiveness ultraviolet light (UV-C) emitting diodes for decontamination stainless steel food contact surfaces. Listeria monocytogenes (ATCC 19115), Escherichia coli 25922), and Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium 700720) were chosen as challenge microorganisms. Target microorganisms subjected UV-C dosages 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 mJ cm −2 at an average fluence 0.163 mW/cm 2 using a near-collimated beam operating 279 nm wavelength. showed lower sensitivity compared followed first-order kinetics. reduced by more than 3-log 10 cycles maximum UV dosage 12 . In contrast, Weibull model with apparent shoulder in initial doses. A reduction 4.4-log achieved highest exposure level. This that LED devices represent excellent alternative inactivation foodborne droplets. Results clearly demonstrate can serve additional sanitation method routine cleaning practices, which are commonly utilized industry.

UV-C inactivation of Legionella rubrilucens
Background: Despite the great health significance of Legionella, there is only little information on their UV sensitivity. Besides Legionella pneumophila only L. longbeachae has been investigated so far. Methods: In this study L. rubrilucens has been spread on buffered charcoal yeast extract agar and irradiated with the 254 nm UV-C emission of a mercury vapor lamp. The disinfection success is m...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate ultraviolet C (UV-C) irradiance, UV-C dosage, and antimicrobial effect achieved by a mobile continuous UV-C device. DESIGN Prospective observational study. METHODS We used 6 UV light sensors to determine UV-C irradiance (W/cm2) and UV-C dosage (µWsec/cm2) at various distances from and orientations relative to the UV-C device during 5-minute and 15-minute cycles in an ICU r...
متن کاملEffect of Ultraviolet-A (UV-A) and Ultraviolet-C (UV-C) Light on Mechanical Properties of Oyster Mushrooms during Growth
This study investigated the effects of ultraviolet-A (UV-A) and ultraviolet-C (UV-C) light on the mechanical properties in oyster mushrooms during the growth. Experiments were carried out with irradiation of the mushrooms with UV-A (365 nm) and UV-C (254 nm) light during growth. The exposure time ranged from 10 minutes to 60 minutes at intervals of 10 minutes and irradiation was done for three ...

The aim of this investigation was to study the efficacy of the combined processes of UV light and mild temperatures for the inactivation of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica and to explore the mechanism of inactivation. The doses to inactivate the 99.99% (4D) of the initial population ranged from 18.03 (Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium STCC 878) to 12.75 J ml(-1) (Salmonella enterica s...
